BYOD
As part of our commitment to future focused learning, we continue to offer the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for all students in Years 5 and 6.
BYOD allows students to bring a personal technology device to school to use for educational purposes under the direction of a teacher. A ‘device’, for the purposes of BYOD, means a privately owned iPad.
The school connects iPads to a filtered NSW Department of Education internet service. Students will have safe, secure internet access.
BYOD has proven to be highly successful, achieving positive outcomes such as:
- bridging the gap between school and home
- personalised and differentiated learning utilising a variety of apps to produce quality pieces of work and adjust to learners’ needs
- providing best teaching practice by redefining and modifying what students can do
- giving students more autonomy with their learning and the opportunity to work collaboratively
- building student organisational skills and sense of responsibility
- engaging students, and
- offering real time, effective feedback to students and to share with parents.
